From April 1, 2026, Georgia has officially banned the sale of single-use plastic tableware and food packaging. This is a significant step in the country’s environmental policy aimed at reducing plastic pollution.

What is prohibited from April 1, 2026:

  • Plastic cutlery (forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks)

  • Plastic cups and lids (including expanded polystyrene – EPS)

  • Straws and stirrers
